This Cookie Policy explains what Screenvault, Inc. ("Screenvault," "we," "us") stores on your device when you use our websites, applications, and services ("Service"), and which outside services your browser contacts while you do.
In short: we set one cookie, to keep you signed in, and keep a few settings in your browser's local storage. We use no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, so there is nothing to accept or decline.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar place in your browser where a website can keep small amounts of data. This policy covers both.
2. The Cookie We Set
id— keeps you signed in, and remembers the screeners you have unlocked with a password and any sign-in or connection to another service that is under way. It lasts until you close your browser. Your sign-in also ends after the idle time and maximum length set in your Preferences, or when your password changes.
This cookie is strictly necessary: without it you cannot sign in. The desktop and Android apps keep the same sign-in in a file in the app's own data folder instead.
3. Local Storage
sv-theme— your choice of light, dark, or automatic theme.invites_seen— which of your invitations this browser has already shown you, so each pops up once. Cleared when you sign out.sv-skip-names— the file names your uploads skip, as you last edited them.sv-client-errors— reports of uploads or downloads that failed, kept only until they can be sent to us so we can fix the cause, then removed. They describe the failure and which file it concerned, nothing else.
Only the error reports are ever sent anywhere, and only to us. The rest stays on your device until you clear your browser's site data.
Downloading several files as one zip also installs a small background script (a service worker) for our site in your browser, which streams the zip to disk. It stores nothing about you.
4. Outside Services
Some parts of the Service are loaded from other providers. Like any server your browser connects to, each receives your IP address and browser details with the request.
- Bunny Fonts (bunny.net) — our typefaces, on every page. It sets no cookies, and bunny.net states it keeps no logs of visitors.
- Stripe — loaded only when you open a payment form. Stripe sets its own cookies to detect and prevent fraud (for example
__stripe_midand__stripe_sid), as described in Stripe's Cookie Policy. - Signing in with, or importing from, another service — when you choose to sign in with an outside account or import files from another storage service, your browser visits that service's own site, where its cookies and policies apply.
5. What We Do Not Use
We use no analytics, advertising, or social media cookies, and our emails contain no tracking pixels: we do not record whether you open them. If we ever add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
6. Managing Cookies
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser's settings. Blocking the id cookie stops you from signing in; clearing local storage resets your theme and the other settings above.
7. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
